You say your computer is "fine" but yet it "stays black"?
Are you saying that you cannot see anything on the screen? Then how do you know it's "fine"? Or are you saying that you see words on a black screen as the computer boots but that it won't boot into the op system? I need lots more info to do this right, but here's some things to try.
If you can see nothing on the screen, it might be the monitor that is bad. If the computer is a desktop, try hooking up a different monitor (or you can hook up your monitor to a working computer) to see if the monitor is the problem.
If the monitor tests okay, it might be a bad graphics card. So, swap a new graphics card into the computer (you can borrow one from a friend).
If you are seeing something on the screen but it just won't boot into the op system, then the problem could be a lot of things, from a bad op system to a bad hard drive to a bad motherboard.
And your father might be angry about the computer going bad, but he shouldn't be angry at you. Computers break all by themselves. You probably have not done anything to cause the breakdown.

hey, i call the monitor a screen ok ( i know i shud call it monitor but it's me ...lol..)
the screen check to see if it's plugged in to an electrical outlet. and it's getting power.
also ensure that it's also connected to the CPU.
if you got another screen can u swap screens to see if it will work.?
if you change screens and it works your screen is bad
if you change it and same thing happens your pc may need a technician to look at it.
