how would one go about checking if he did?
Even Bill Clinton was called out about this. seeing he ran from the draft but he had registered for it.
So come on someone has to have some information on this.
i have searched but find nothing on it.
please if you find it intresting give me a star
all men of the age of 18 have to register for the Draft (Selective Service)
Selective Service Registration
Male students who fail to register with Selective Service before turning age 26 are ineligible for Federal student loan and grant programs, including Pell Grants, Federal Work Study, and Stafford Loans. (Parents who want to borrow a PLUS loan do not have to satisfy the registration requirement.) Several states have also made Selective Service registration a prerequisite for state financial aid and for matriculation at public colleges and universities.
Even if you disagree with the requirement, you should register. Failure to register can have a serious negative impact on your ability to obtain a driver's license, qualify for financial aid, pursue an education, or obtain employment.
Senator Obama was legally required to register during July 1980.
There is no record of his registering and his campaign will not address the issue.

In the US, the draft is administered by a government agency called the Selective Service System. Under current law, every male between the ages of 18 and 26 who is living in the United States must register with the Selective Service - whether or not he is a US citizen. Women are NOT required to register, according to the SSS.
The SSS provides a chart showing who must register at their website www.sss.gov.
The Federal Citizen Information Center, a US government service, provides information about the Military Draft Time To Register. According to them, all male US citizens between the ages of 18 and 26 must register unless they are institutionalized in a hospital or prison.
The names of men who do not register are passed over to the US Department of Justice for possible prosecution. Failing to register may also jeopardize student loans, scholarships/financial aid, and even the ability to obtain a driver's license.
I don't know how an individual citizen would find out if someone registered or not.
Edit: Chronos, I think you are mistaken about what you saw.

BHO was born in 1961 and On July 2, 1980, President Carter issued Presidential Proclamation 4771 and re-instated the requirement that young men register with the Selective Service System.[71] At that time it was required that all males, born on or after January 1, 1960, register with the Selective Service System. Those now in this category are male U.S. citizens and male immigrant non-citizens between the ages of 18 and 25, who are required to register within 30 days of their 18th birthdays. BHO would have been within the required age limit

The situation with Clinton vs Obama is different. When Clinton was 18 there was an active draft. However by the time Obama turned 18 there was no draft. He had to register for selective service in case the draft was ever reinstated, as did everyone his age after 1980. I remember seeing a copy of that registration on line and it was dated 1980.

He had to register witih the Selective Service in order to get financial aid. That is NOT the draft, but merely a registration issue. So, problem solved.

You are correct there is no record of BHO registering with the Selective
Service, However a strange circumstance has surfaced, where a redacted
form of offical document has him as doing so. More than likely from the
same guys that did his birth certificate,

Since President-elect Obama received student loans when he was in college, and since no man who has failed to register for the selective service is eligible to receive student loans, we may deduce that he did indeed register for selective service when he was required to.
And for the record, President Clinton did not "run from the draft" - his selective service lottery number was NEVER SELECTED.

i don't have self belief that conflict journey or sympathy factors for being injured constitutes any skills for working the rustic. we'd desire to continually be searching for management, properly theory out destiny plans, wish for the middle type in our candidate, no longer wishy washy idealisms in conflict heros that think of they are in a position to run a rustic because of the fact they have been courageous adequate to kill a guy. confident, I do get excitement from his honorable centers in uniform, yet we'd desire to look previous this propaganda and hear him talk relating to the themes... which he has no longer been making precise precedence like Obama.

Hey someone tell ole fugly guy with the first ans. that when you want to be pres. nothing is private, and Yup! he registered for the draft, and I am the jack a$$ that will say it, he registered for tyhe draft in KENYA :)

I think you have to register when you are between 18-25 but it is not really registering for a draft. We have not had a draft for over 35 years so he would only have been about 10 or 12 at the time.

Yes, he registered for selective service. The United States has not had the draft for several decades.
Begging for a star is just pitiful.
