What do you think of Mardi Gras Mambo morning pome?

Three, six, nine, the goose drank wine,

The monkey chewed tobacco

On the street car line.

The line broke, the monkey got choked,

And they all went to Heaven in

A little row boat. CLAP! CLAP!

Don't know the news,

Don't dare read it...

Computer screen is candlelight

Flickering words down, round,

All about town...uh, world.

When caught by a 24 hour shift...

Fighting it is useless...so listen

To the VHF...cause dey won't be

None dem boats today, or night!

Pelicans flapping backwards,

Sailing away on the crest of a wave,

It's magic...for you, and your sweet

Desires. Windy was NOT the word

Yesterday...sheeeesh! Like the outer

Band of a hurricane! On that note...

January 6th, special about that?

12th day/night after Christmas...BUT!

Kick-off to the Mardi Gras Season!!!!

Floats, beads, cheering, yelling, "Yeah!

Pass me up that beer!" If he fell off

The float, it's gotta be the Crewe of Hercules!!!

Heart attack? Naw, he drunk!!!

Past drunk, gave all his beads away

To a streetlight!! "I'll flash ya fer

Beads, Mister!" How is 'you and those

Beads get arrested' sound?

Football tailgatin, ain't got nuthin

On Mardi Gras tailgatin!!!!

Cooking a six week party!!!!

Complete with a recipe fer DUIs...

Go head and drink. Go head and wait.

Police'll gitcha...if dey can be found!!!

Mardi Gras Mambo, Mambo, Mambo!

Good Morning! Good Mardi Gras Morning!

Ya'llses!

Update:

Neon...true! Against the law down here...course cops are never around, and the flashers get more beads than anyone! Could've bought Manhatten AND New York with them!

Jan 6th is the traditional start...dunno, but has to do with 12th night.

Update 2:

foggisan....Driving underestimated ignorance...DUI.

Beads are strings of beads thrown by people, on these Mardi Gras floats, to the crowds! Fun to try and catch, then you throw them away...all in the fun of catching them!

Wonderful. I have visited the Big Easy, but never during Mardi Gras. Hope I can fix that someday. Not this year, though. Too busy.

San Antonio's Fiesta, which is held in April, is another fun event, without the beads and flashers.

Good Mardi Gras Marnin to you!

Good write! No better than good. This one is set apart--the flow the rhythm the words, it is all working in excellent form today!

I live up north and those who go 'down' to Mardi Gras keep them beads for years! Didn't ever see anyone throw them out. Hmmmmmm. They hang them in their cars until they sell the car!

    Giggles and again, GM!

I've never been to Mardi Gras, but my cousin sends me beads every year. I used to wonder how she got so many, but knowing her, I don't wanna know.

    Good Morning

Ah yes, the sweet sounds of "Throw me some beads, Mister" and the sweet reply "Show me your t*ts". Remind me to tell you about a Mardi Gras at Pat O'Briens someday. Do you have any King Cake for the coffee this morning?
