As a former Sikh i can safely say you should NEVER cut your hair especially if you are a member of the Khalsa and you are permitted to kill no one. You are allowed to fight the unjust and defend the faith under persecution however. The faith does not condone killing people of cutting hair or killing people to allow hair cutting.

Because almost every 'Khalsa' breaks his religious laws. Of the 5 K’s the Kesh ( hair and beard, eyebrows, body hair ) is shorn by a massive ( maybe 99 %, yes 99 % ) majority of the young 'Khalsa', weather they are in the UK or the fields of Punjab . Even the 'Khalsa's who keep the hair will reject 3 other physical symbols. For convenience sake - without batting an eyelid. Ask a religious 'Khalsa', - if you take so much trouble over maintaining your hair at the right length, do you keep ‘the Kacha’ ( large undergarment / drawers ) or do you wear a Calvein Klein brand of underwear. Do you keep ‘the Kanga’ ( comb ) of the right length or only a miniature Kanga – for convenience sake ? The ‘Kara’ is convenient so almost everyone ( including I ) wear it. There is nothing wrong with this though - a dynamic religion will not lay too much emphasis on rituals - it will change, progress and become stronger with time. That is why Sikhism is a great religion today EDIT - K , i gave you a thumbs up - at least for being theoretically correct. I know you dislike me for my statements, but believe me, i am a Sikh just like you and i love Sikhsim as much as you. I just feel that we should not be blind to winds of change. You say that 'these Sikhs' who do all therse things are not true Khalsa, which is perfectly right, but if 'these Sikhs' happen to be 99% or more and true Khalsa happen to be a fraction, then why not reconsider the pure true position, in favour of the realistic position ? 'these Sikhs' me included dont like it when you call us non Sikhs. That is an insult to us.

what are you on about? Sikhs believe it is a sin to cut hair, so they don't. Haven't got a clue where you got the Muslim bit from!!????

what aload of bollox, they cut their hair when they become a man, then they let it grow for the rest of their lives. but they can cut it if they want to. or if they injure their heads etc..
sikhs are very peaceful people and they arent allowed to kill, just like all other religions, inlcuding islam.
