Why wont YouTube change my background?!?

Every time I try to change my background it wont let me. I will put my little link in the box because I got the image off of Google Images. Then when I scroll down to press update channel it is gray and wont let me change it. The only option is reset values and that doesn't change it either.HELP! http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://imag...

YouTube has totally changed the rules for how to place images

on to your channel page. Your photo or image can no longer be

a direct link from a website, nor can you insert its URL.

At least you don't have to worry anymore about making sure its

length is less than 64 characters and that it begins with "http://"/

otherwise YouTube refused your image without any explanation.

It just left you wondering: what could have possibly gone wrong.

1 -- click on "ACCOUNT" just beside the ▼ at the top of a page

(you'll get a new page with black titles and many blue subtitles)

2 -- click on "EDIT CHANNEL", the 2nd blue title on the far right

(you'll get 3 different blue subtitles, including "Channel Design")

3 -- click on "CHANNEL DESIGN"

(you'll get a new page with nine colour combinations at the top)

4 -- scroll half-way down, and look for "BACKGROUND IMAGE"

(it's the 2nd thin rectangle, with the "Browse" box just beside it)

5 -- click the "BROWSE" button

(the image must now be on your computer and less than 256K)

(the option below asks if you want the image once or repeated)

6 -- click on either "YES" or "NO"

(if your image is small, you should consider clicking on "YES")

(you can always easily change your mind with the other bullet)

7 -- scroll back up to the top and click on "UPDATE CHANNEL"

(it's on the gray stripe just above the nine colour combinations)

If you want to double-check it for yourself, here is the complete

URL site of YouTube's help reference, followed by its direct link:

    www . google . com / support / youtube / bin / answer . py ? hl = en & answer = 71515

    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.p...

(Please note YouTube's last line: it could take up to 6 hours till

you're able to see your new background image.)

If you're currently logged on to YouTube as you are reading this,

you can also click on my link just below. Believe it or not, it will

take you straight to the set-up of "YOUR" very own profile page:

I hope my step-by-step details is the answer you are looking for.

Well, there are 2 common answers 2 this. First, sometimes, you have 2 do it a couple times. I f lots of people are on youtube at the same time, you have 2 do it over and over again. Press delete, then put it in again and repeat the process. Otherwise, next to the bar where you put in your image it says, repeat background image. There is a yes and a no. you have to either press on yes or no. then it will show. I hope this helps!

p.s. that picture for your background is great! :)
