Why is it that police tend to hassle import drivers more so than people who drive domestic cars?
I'm not trying to put down police officers at all, I have the utmost respect for them and have always been treated respectfully by every cop I've ever encountered. I drive a modified Mustang which is pretty loud and have never been pulled over for anything. But my friends who drive mod'd imports like 240SX's and Preludes get pulled over all the time for excessive noise, etc. And I never do. I just that that was odd.

You could be in a redneck-type town with redneck cops or they could just be aware of the statistics. "Ricers" are much more likely to be dopeheads than domestic modders. Stereotype? Yep, but still fact. Along the same lines, "Ricers" are more or less constantly revving their engines on purpose, for no good reason. Seldom do you see a domestic driver do such things. Yours could be just as loud, but not nearly as 'present'.

It is a thing where if you have too nice of a car in their minds at a young age. Also, if you don't look like you are off of the waltons or 90210 they assume you are trouble.

Probably because Mustangs are built to sound nice, and be fast.
"Ricers" commonly have stolen parts, and are built to sound like a fart can and they attract cops.
