I have been wondering how I will explain my name change to the next gf I have. I pretty much have my answer in my mind-I did it because I wanted the same last name as my mom and stepdad. My biological father has been absent for most of my life since age 10 and I want my future family to have the same last name as my mom and stepdad . I am wondering though because it will come up considering my birth name is on my hs diploma and bachelor's degree from college. I would think the first time she saw that on the wall she would be thrown off by it. I changed my middle and last name recently at the age of 23. How and when to bring it up? I don't wanna seem dramatic or something like that. Should I just wait until she sees the diplomas/degrees in my apartment before saying anything or should I just put it out there. Ladies, do you think it would be romantic or sweet to hear a guy tell you something like this or would it weird you out in a way?

I am going home for the summer in a few weeks from school and was wondering how to explain to old friends from high school and stuff when they see me about how I changed my name. I am sure it will come up since it was listed under legal briefs in the local paper. We live in a small town of about 10,000 where everyone knows everyone else's business to an extent. I just don't want it to be this long, drawn out explanation of why.

Anyways, the name change went through last week and yesterday I received the court documents in the mail. I just didn't know how to go about telling them about it. It's not that it is a shame thing or something I wasn't supposed to do, but I just lack the ability to be able to break news in general to people. I am not good at that for some reason. I was going to tonight, if they are still up after I get home from night school. Suggestions, advice please??

I was wondering how to surprise and celebrate with my mom and step-dad that my name change I filed for, giving me their last name went through. I have kept quiet about it since last bringing it up about a month ago. I got the paperwork today. What do you think?

I was wondering since I got adopted by my stepdad how I could get my hs diploma and associate's degree with my new name on them?

I need advice on how/when to bring up my name change and absent father to new my new gf. I took my mom and stepdad's name in the last month, having it legally changed from my birth name. However, at 20 a lot of people would be surprised that I would do it considering that is something you normally do at a younger age. Anyways, My mom warned me this would be a conversation that I would have to have from now on, but I just don't know how to go about it or explain it. It isn't an unwillingness or denial thing.

I have always wanted to, but never had the money until I saved up enough from my tips from waiting tables at the Chili's I work at this past/current school year. I did it because I basically don't have anything linking me to my biological father's family other than the last name. They are all stuck up and prudes. My father himself is absent and never really was there for me as a kid. My stepdad basically stepped in very slowly and became my "dad" even more whenever I got in my later teens.

I was wanting advice though about how to explain this to a girl that I am out with and like about this to where it isn't telling your lifestory and not just "because I wanted to," in fear of seeming smug. I mean, it wasn't an act of wanting to divorce myself or whatever from my father. I honestly don't give a crap about him not being around anymore. I haven't talked to him in like 4 years. He has been out of my older brother's life and talked as if he was dead for the last 10 years; my bro is 8 years older than me. I just want to live my life and he isn't a good influence or parent. (Buying me alcohol/slipping me a drink at restaurants and stuff, would let me have girls over and let them stay the night whenever I wanted at his house, etc.) I did this for me not an act of getting back or anything like that.

I just don't know how or when it would be a good idea to explain what happened. I don't wanna come off as being dramatic or something like that.

Why isn't Kelly Monaco doing something bigger since she was on Dancing with the stars? She won season 1 and that show seems to get everyone to a higher level irregardless of whether you win or not. I remember everyone saying she was gonna be on Desperate Housewives, but they got that black lady instead. I was just wondering. She is so hot and a good actress on General Hospital. Does she not wanna be in primetime or doing big movies?

I had my rook done for about a month and it was doing well. However, one night my gfs tomcat that is mean as hell came into the bedroom when I was asleep and bit me right up underneath the captive beaded ring. I got bit I guess bc he was scared of being rolled over on. Anyways, I tried to take care of the bite myself, but it was looking bad, so I went to the doctor. The doctor made me take my jewelery out of my rook so the nurses could give me some medication shots and stuff into the wound and clean it. He told me to leave it out because I would have to apply this special cream and all and he might have to go back and order more of the same to get it under control. He said it is common with animal bites, considering how nasty their mouths are. He said any bite is bad because the mouth is the nastiest part of the body as far as carrying germs. Anyways, I was wanting to get it redone its been a week now.

I was wanting to get my rook re-done and I was wanting some advice. I had to take it out because of school and since I will be out for the summer in like 3 weeks, I want to get it re-done. My question is since it has been out for like 2 weeks, will I be ok to do that?

Can a good, educated guy with a bit of a bad boy look get an educated all american girl next door type? I was just wondering because in one of my grad school classes, there is this girl who looks like a pre-tom cruise era katie holmes. You can tell she is straighted laced and from the suburbs and all of that. A lot of my friends were like yeah she would probably go to a movie with you or a drink, but that is it even though you are educated, have a good job, are a good guy, etc. because you have a bit of a bad boy look. I have like 14 tattoos and used to have piercings but took them out to look more mature/clean cut. What do you think? They were saying in general, they would maybe date me casually and be a fling but that is it. They wouldn't be too likely to get serious or long-term because I don't have that yuppie/preppy look of the guy they always saw themselves marrying and were raised up around as little girls as far as other kids' parents and older siblings' spouses. Is this true? What do you think. I know that there is always an exception, but what about the likelihood?

I am just curious because you don't see it much anymore. I notice most of the time, regardless of race, you see the fake bling studs or the gauged out (plugs, horseshoes, etc) look. What do you think of very small, thin hoop earrings on guys?

I was noticing the other day how she has so much attention on her via ESPN games she is at. I was thinking, at some point, she has to move on to movies/tv and be an actress or something, right? I mean, most people move on from whatever they get known for to do something bigger.
