Paternity Test, What do you think?
Long story short, my boyfriends ex is pregnant. And she is claiming that it is his. I've checked the dates and something seems a little off. Not by too much but just enough where you might question it.
He tells her he wants a paternity test. She throws out every excuse in the book not to have one. Such as getting "offended" that he would even think that the child wasn't his.
And recently she sent him an email saying how expensive the test can be. Trying to talk him out of it.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but don't women normally want a paternity test when they are 100% sure who the father is or if that father has doubts.
Is it just my boyfriend and I or does it seriously sound like this girl is hiding something?
Hate to say it but she is kind of a whore. She sleeps around with anyone that shows interest.

I know exactly how that is. Tell your boyfriend to keep questioning if he's the father. I'm sure she's going to want child support and when it comes up and your boyfriend is denying the child the courts WILL order a paternity test FOR FREE! So his ex is pretty damn stupid and sounds like she IS hiding something. Don't let her try to scam your boyfriend for a child that isn't is. Now if it comes out that he IS the father, then of course hell have to take responsibility for the child. Good luck

Perhaps it does not help the cheating mother that wants to get pregnant by one man and make another man take care of that child. Yet, this woman was doing something that was morally wrong on multiple counts. Why would I sympathize with her that a DNA test would not allow her to get away with this? If, on the other hand, the father makes a false accusation that the woman was cheating, and he says that the baby is not really his, it is very simple for a woman to prove that she is telling the truth now -- have him take a DNA test. Before the invention of the DNA test, this kind of false accusation could last for a lifetime without resolution... Now, a father can know he is biologically related to his kid, and put that worry to rest. If you think about it in that sense, it improves the lives of women who have NOT cheated, because they can provide PROOF that the child is the father's biologically. Without that ability to provide proof, fathers could make an issue of their paternity concerns to the mother for a very long time. Since I'm not a woman trying to commit paternity fraud, I feel very, very positively about DNA testing. I wouldn't hesitate to have one done to prove to the father that the children are his, even though I'm already certain, I feel good knowing I can provide certainty to the father as well.

Sounds like it's most likely not his. She might be trying to pin it on him, so that she gets child support some way.
Let him take that paternity test no matter what she says. Get a lawyer if you have to. But once things are clear, it is less stressful for you and your boyfriend. You won't have to worry about "what if" that's his baby, you know?
If he is the father, you don't want him to get in trouble for "abandoning" the child. If he's not, then his ex is no longer a part of your lives. Hell, even get a restraining order on her ***.
Good luck

Well I don't know her so I can't make any judgements, but if he has doubts he should get a paternity test.
You can do them for a few hundred dollars now, you can even buy one at Walgreens, swab daddy and baby and mail it in to the lab with your check.
If she wants child support from him, he can request for a test through the court system, then she can't tell him no.

if anyone has doubts, then do the paternity test. also before he pays child support, the court might order a paternity test. get a lawyer if it goes to court.
you can buy at home paternity tests for less than $100 dollars. it sounds worth it.

If he is willing to pay for the test i don't see why she wouldn't want one unless like you said there is a chance that he isn't the father. If she tries to get him for child support he can request a court ordered paternity test. My ex denied my daughter and wanted a paternity test and I willingly allowed so he could be proven wrong and knocked off his high horse. So yes it does seem suspicious to me

She obviously knows that it's not his baby, but thinks that he's a nice guy that will give her money to help raise it. He should insist on a paternity test. If she tries to force money out of him by going to court, they will insist on a test anyway. So she should just have it done and he should ignore her until she does and shows him proof.

She def has to have a paternity test done if she wants anything from him. He is in the clear until a test proves otherwise. W/O a court order he can't make her get one. However she can't name him as the father w/o his consent.

If your boyfriend was the father then there wouldnt be any problem with a paternity test.
Has your boyfriend offered to pay for the test, to see what she says.
If he is having doubts then he is best to get one before putting his name on a birth certificate and paying maintenance.
However i know it may be affecting you, however please leave it between those two. It just makes you look bad if you bad mouth this woman, especially if it turns out that it is his child!

Sounds like it's not his... I bet she's just jealous of you and wants him to leave you for her because they now supposedly have a baby together. He is really smart asking for a paternity test -- until she can prove that it's his, consider it someone else's.
Good luck!! She sounds kind of crazy...
