What is the word for thinking the universe is exactly the way you subjectively see it ?

i think we're looking for a word of around 10+ letters long possibly beginning with E ( I forgot the darned word itself so I may have forgotten the first letter too) .

BA for first right answer, as this is annoying me.

Normalcy. I was going to say arrogance at first though. Here is the problem with this idea, which like most philosophical idea, sounds better as a theory ...

If I see the universe in some subjective way, and then choose to observe things I had not seen, then I really am not seeing it in any new way. I say this because any new way I see it is still subjectively chosen by me and just includes new things. So, the only way to objectively see the universe is not to see it myself.

Also, if there are parallel dimensions and multiverses, as physics and quantum mechanics indicates, then this is always a TRUE idea. There will always be universes that operate differently than how I perceive them.

This appears to be a riddle with a clue as a bonus, probably to maximise the number of correct responses. As this should not be difficult for any good student of human thoughts to find out that the word you are looking for is ‘Existentialism’, which however is not a ten-letter word, but it does begin with a capital E.

In the Existentialist movement of thought the subject of observation is not an observer aloof, or detached, from the object of observation, as an entirely outside existence, but of himself included in the act. I can say that nothing that we see is what it really is, including ourselves, however, what we see is all that is there log as we remain what we are.

For instance, I would not be able to perceive anything meaningful if I were not the observer I am. There I see would not be any difference, and therefore a point of me being me, if I were not able to see things in my own peculiar way. I am, but I am also what I see.

The perspective that there is no underlying, objective reality that differs from the perception of reality is called metaphysical subjectivism.

    Expectation or Existentialism

I believe it's Empiricism - things exist "as they are", or rather, as we see them. They can be scientifically measured.

That or Realism, which is, things exist whether we're looking at them or not, outside of our mind - they just ARE even if we AREN'T.

    Hope this helps!
