is the new digital TV converter box any good?
it is getting close to the time to convert to the digital TV system is the converter box any good and does it actually help the way your TV comes in?

The DTV converter box does work good. It will let you watch digital TV through the antenna. You may actually be able to watch channels that you never saw before; most likely digital channels.

Without a converter box or a digital TV, you are not going to be able to watch the full power stations with an antenna.
Of course, if you have cable or satellite, you will be OK.

There isn't one convertor box ("The"), there a re dozens of manufacturers with a couple to a few models each ("A").
That said, some are good, some not so good. Generally, the more you pay, the better.
They don't really "help" you receive, just get what you now get in digital, for the most part.
