Are those USB cassette converters worth buying or are they too much hassle?

I mean are they simple to use, does it take long to convert?

If you've got cassettes of older albums, which may not be available to download, they are an ideal way of transferring them to CD / mp3.

Having said that, if you have a cassette player with a headphone socket, connect a lead from the headphone socket to the sound card input on your pc and you can record the tape anyway.

It will take as long as the recording as you can only record in real time.
