Injury at bus shelter.?
Bus shelters have these mini slanted seats. Has anyone every had an 'accident' on those. My friend went to use one and promptly fell off breaking her ankles. She was immediately operated on and stayed two weeks in hospital. After she was discharged, a further operation had to be done and a further two weeks in hospital. I wonder has anyone else had any mishaps with these seats.
She went to sit on it, the purpose for which it is designed.
My friend wrote to complain and was told there was nothing defective with the seating, but some time later, the seat has now been changed, it no longer slants, it is now level.

These seats are commonplace.
They are not intended as a full seat, but as an aid to resting in an erometric position.
Sounds as if your friend was either negligent in her use of the seat or tried to misuse it.
I would advise against court proceedings, as it is likely to attract a counter claim from the owner of the bus shelter for damage and/or her negligence. The counter claim will be far easier to prove resulting in an award for damages and costs against your friend.

We have these mini slatted stainless steel seats at our bus station and whilst they are not exactly comfortable they are certainly not a hazard. I find it hard to visualise just how your friend could have broken her ankles slipping off one though. Bruised her butt, yes, broke both ankles - just cannot for the life of me see how.

ive sat on many bus stop seats and never had any problems, Your friend is obviously very accident prone to break her ankles trying to sit on a seat, she's either very unsteady or slipped on her 6" heels

did she by chance stand on the seat, not sit on it?...if she did then she used the seat not for the purpose it was designed for.
EDIT...
