Is there a such thing as an intellectually honest Liberal?

I tried to find one in several of my past questions and still haven't. I'm sure there must be at least one intellectually honest Liberal out there.

For example, when I mention Obama fighting against the Born Alive Act, they just deny it, even though the link is there, with his official testimony from the Illinois State Assembly website. Anybody who can read can't deny this, and yet they do. http://bornalivetruth.org/

And when I mentioned the proven Photoshopped image of his birth certificate, and the fact that his own grandmother, half-brother and sister said he was born in Kenya. They just say I'm lying.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Message.as...

Isn't there a single Liberal out there who can honestly say, yeah, I don't care about born alive babies and I don't care where he was born (even though it's a Constitutional requirement)?

Or, at least admit they didn't know it was true about the Born Alive Act, because the media didn't report it?

Or, at least say you'd like to convince people that he really is a natural born citizen, even though you personally believe everything he says?

Or at least something intellectually honest? Come on people. I'll give the winning points to an intellectually honest Liberal. If I don't get one (again), I'll give the points to the most informative other.

Update:

Andrew K- thumbs up for you. You were halfway there. At least you knowingly agree with his stance on the Born Alive Act. All of the news stories I saw about the born alive act reported Obama's statement only, when he said he wanted it to be more like the federal law. But they didn't actually look at it and see that it was identical. You were wrong about Hannity and Limbaugh though, both of them believe the birth certificate is real.

I used to make light-hearted fun of Liberals, just friendly kidding around. But the longer I have stayed around Yahoo Answers, the more I am compelled to state the obvious: Liberalism really is a type of mental disorder.

I am not alone in this belief. "Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness."

"Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave." Rossiter boasts excellent professional credentials and a life virtually free of activism and links to "the vast right-wing conspiracy." For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

So when you have someone like Nancy Pelosi who refuses to even acknowledge basic math (tax revenues increased due to higher economic activity, created by the tax cuts), it is a sign that there is something very intrinsically and basically wrong with her mental processes. It's like some religious zealot in the 1400s refusing to acknowledge that the Earth revolves around the sun.

And Liberalism really is like a religion, and an extreme one at that. Undeniably, extreme religion makes one extremely stupid, forcing you to adhere to beliefs that are patently and demonstrably false.

It's undeniable that some Liberals like Noam Chomsky have brilliant minds, but it is like a malfunctioning computer. Something intrinsic in the basic operating system is corrupted, and it blinds them to the obvious, just like religious zealots.

Now, how about those elusive, intellectually honest Liberals? I really believe that, in their hearts, many Liberals are totally unaware of their intellectual dishonesty, their jaw-dropping hypocrisy, and their shocking intolerance for Conservatives who hold a different point of view. That is why Liberals lash out like spoiled children; their minds are just protecting themselves against information that runs so contradictory to the only information their minds are able to allow and process. If a Liberal realized that many of his "do gooder" programs actually did more harm than good, his whole life outlook would be revealed as a fraud, and therefore the Liberal mind reacts violently to information that would expose it to anything not permitted in its insular little dream world.

How about that phony birth certificate? Just look at the first website below. It is undeniable that this document was altered, not just once, but many times!

But will a Liberal even read the website? No. It's like having a house with old fuses and insufficient capacity for amperage. The Liberal mind would just "blow a fuse" if it had to confront reality.

Now, what I'd like to say next is a little less cut and dry, but my firm opinion is that Liberals are often (and extremely) mentally lazy. They won't take time to read. Heck, I've cajoled them and tried every trick in the book just to get them to watch a simple video, but they won't. I'm a Ronald Reagan Conservative, and I'll bet I'm different than 98% of all Obama supporters in one regard (but I doubt you'll guess what it is): I have actually read his book, "The Audacity of Hope". In fact, my theory could easily be proven by simply finding out how many copies of that book have been sold, and figure 90% of them were read by Liberals. Then subtract that number from the number of Obama supporters.

I admire Liberals for their dedication to certain causes. I admire their sometimes grim determination. But I do not admire their intellectual dishonesty and intellectual laziness. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh.

The only problem is this: this is coming off as rather disingenuous from you, much like saying there is a "compassionate conservative"

As to the birth certificate issue, Congress has had two years to deal with the issue. Since no one at the department of Justice has done anything, I have to assume that they consider the issue a non-issue.

as to the Born Alive Act, one must also consider the source of the allegation as well. I would like a source that is non-biased (which also includes Focus on the family, who is not arfaid to show its affiliations).

Now, i never heard of the BAA but your approach of "yeah, I don't care about born alive babies" reveals your own biases and prejudices. One has to assume that you really don;t want an IHL, but just someone to slap around

When you decide to stop being an argumentative, deceptive conservative, setting up a situation where I am not allowed to express my feelings without being attacked, i will be more than happy to have an intellectual conversation with you.

Incidentally, I never wanted Obama in the first place, as i felt (and still feel) that he lacks sufficient experience to be president.

There will never be an intellectually honest liberal in your mind, because intellectually honest people often disagree with each other. In all the questions you asked, you were given links to evidence which contradicted what you believed, but you denied it. Should we say that you are not intellectually honest?

I didn't say anyone was lying about the birth certificate, I listed links like the Hawaiian state government saying it was authentic, as well as sites where actual experts had gone over the actual birth certificate(not an online copy they had pixilated to say what they wanted it to.) I mentioned that the term "natural born" has not been legally defined. Nowhere in the Constitution does it define natural born as being born on American soil. It could just as easily be defined as born to an American citizen.

But none of that is intellectually honest to you because you disagree with me. As long as you can only make yourself feel better by demonizing a particular group of people, you will never see it as anything else.

I agree with Obama's stance on the Born Alive Act.

I disagree that Obama was born in Kenya, as his birth certificate is completely real and legal, as proven by many professional document examiners and lawyers, etc. The only people who have disputed his birth certificate are ultraconservative bloggers who really don't know anything except what they hear from Limbaugh or Hannity.

The media has reported endlessly on the Born Alive Act, I've seen at least 1 story about it on every major news network (about a half dozen on Fox), and I don't watch televised news that much.

There are many, many intellectually honest Democrats who believe in doing right by the country - and not for personal gain at the expense of the country.

It's a fact that the American people have been bruised by the Republican expansion of government and their expansion of hubris has been equally damaging. And Democrats are accused of being the government expanders? The lack of an effective, empowered opposition party has allowed Republicans to operate without, in many cases, even the fear of oversight and negligence.

Meanwhile that's been the case - oversight and negligence in the name of vile greed..

Consequently we are ALL skeptical of government — how much more ought we be skeptical of such a concentration of power to one party? It doesn't ultimately matter whether Republicans or Democrats hold the concentrated power — the public choice problems and power incentives are the same.

We've been forced to live with an entrenched Republican Majority and, because people tend to convert political affiliation into team loyalty, many of those who were formerly from the Conservative, libertarian or Religious wings of the Republican party have now simply become partisan loyalists dedicated to the defense of power.

And we've had enough of it. ALL public servants had better shape up quickly.

As for Obama's birth authenticity - I've yet to see bonafide proof that he is not a US citizen.

    Guy,

    1. He voted against the born alive act because illinois already had protections for babies that had a chance at life. The act would've empowered a state bureaucracy to make doctors waste time trying to save babies that had no chance of survival.

    2. I don't care where he was born. It's a constitutional requirement because guys in the 1700s were afraid that a sharp dressed sleek talkin european would come to America and make us a virtual dependency.

Yes , The Libs that are Sane are Intellectually Honest but they still use Their Intellectual Imaginations to make decisions and that is were things go wrong.

I assume that by intellectually honest, you mean someone who will AGREE WITH YOUR VIEWPOINT based on evidence from a blog and an an extremist web site.

Why don't you save yourself some typing and just post: "Ten points to the first person to answer "yes" to 'Is Obama a poopy-head'".

Your question is for the tinfoilers to answer. Obviously you are a Conservative, a bored Conservative.

You know Obama was born in Hawaii.

There are plenty of intellectually honest Liberals. Obama is one of them.

If you would get over your racist Conservative views, and remove the tin foil hat, you might be able to see the world in shades of gray instead of black and white (no pun intended).

There was already a law on the books protecting babies, he wanted protections for the mother.

The Electoral College just certified his election.

You don't want to hear any facts that are contrary to your position -- how intellectually honest is that?
