I didn't hear of this rumor and i'm on top of EVERY rumor,I did hear of Nady being on the chopping block i don't like it.I also heard the yankee's are not giving up Swisher it was reported they would rather trade Nady and keep Swisher.

no way!!!!!! ichiro is the face of the franchise and has been an all star for years now. on the other hand matsui isn't and hasn't been an all star so how would that benefit anyone other than new york. i highly doubt that seattle wants a fellow AL team, the yanks, to be the entire starting lineup for this years all star team.seattle will also be highly optimistic and call this a rebuilding period. they will be also hoping that on some kind of miracle the will win the wild card or even more optimistically-the division, therefore how is it possible without their star ichiro suzuki. its like the yankees trading a-rod for nomar. matsui is better than nomar at this point in nomars career so its not really the same but you get the point

Makes sense but it wouldn't happen.
Matsui isn't really around for his defense anymore with those bad knees.
If anything Yankees are going to trade Nady for someone and move Swisher to right field.

Its never gonna happen...the Mariners will never trade Ichiro unless they get a Hanful of Amazing Prospects in return. Matsui is almost as old as Ichiro with much less talent, its not gonna happen.

No way is the Mariners gonna trade Ichiro. He's kind of like the leader of the team.

No thanks. Ichiro as you said is 35 and he still has about what 100 million left on his deal? I'd rather just see what Matsui can give us this season and let him go after 09. Yankees would be taking on what 15 million? Washburn isn't even that good.

first off...that is an insane rumor....but let me share a story with you that you might get a kick out of.....back in the '40's tom yawkey (red sox owner) and the yankees owner mcpail were drinking together heavily, and tey were both heavily intoxicated....in a drunken stupour, mcphail suggested to yawkey and even up trade...williams for dimaggio...yawkey loved the idea, and they even shook on it....later on in a more sober moment, yawkey dodged mcphail when he wanted to make good on thier drunken agreement....which is pretty much what this whole ichiro/matsui rumur reminds me of....

why would you give ichiro for matsui? that's ridiculous. the mariners would be brain dead if they ever give ichiro up
