Debbie, Deb or Deborah? Please help me choose a professional name?

I don't know why I think this but Deb seems the least like a scientist to me. I like Deborah.

Deborah. Deb is fine too, but I find it unprofessional when people ask to be called by childhood nicknames, esp. the ones ending in "ie" sound like Jimmy or Davey.

Put Deborah on your resumes and use that name to introduce yourself. It is more professional. When coworkers and bosses become more comfortable with you, they could use Debbie or Deb.

Deborah sounds most like a scientist's name.

Debbie sounds least like a scientist's name.

when you get to know someone better he or she would probably call you deb because it's easier and friendlier i guess if you're friends

i recommend introducing yourself as deborah at first though!

In your 20s: Debbie

30 - 40s: Deborah

40s - retirement: Deb

That's the way it works.

Debbie is more of a nickname and so is Deb.If you want to feel sophisticated then you can pick Deborah to also feel professional.
