How do you say "I Love You" in Japanese ?

I've heard so many ways to say "I Love You" in Japanese, how do you say it the correct way? Oh, and how do you write it?

Aishiteru is the japanese word for I Love You.

It's not as commonly used as in western culture and is very serious to say.

the most common way to tell someone how you feel is by saying,

    すきだ。「suki da」 I like you.

    The literal phrase would be

    愛してる「aishiteru」I love you

But in Japan, "I love you" is not really a phrase you hear often. Japanese people don't like to throw the words around as much as we do in English. Instead, they prefer to shove love in actions rather than words. That is why it's not really a common phrase to hear, and instead they just say "I like you." (:

All answers here are all wrong It's so obvious mos if not all here are NOT of Japanese descent and are getting their answers from online translators or anime or subtitles etc Btw 90% of subs for non English media is wrongly translated.

I'm fluent Japanese and English. Also learning German from my 2nd gen German American wife whom I met in University, btw it's a funny story on how we met as we were both attending or taking English as our minors at UCLA and also attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as well, tho (this was back in 2003) we are in different specialties of medicine. Anyway pardon the rant. Please do not get or learn stuff off the web most of it is wrong. Get a good language program course for your pc or take a class but bear in mind they use software in language schools so may as well just save some money.

Sorry don't know exactly how you would spell Japanese words in English so bear with me. Do not use most of the other terms you see here.

Skida or Ski-da means "i'm in love" "fallen in love" or anything regarding in love etc.

Daisuke mean "I love you" or "I really love you"

So basically the only difference of the 2 are one means "IN" and the other is "I" or "I'M" - in love

    In Japanese you say, "ski des." Or something like that if you are a woman (usually). When you're a guy, you say "ai shteru yo" or "suki da yo" or something like that. And normally, if you say "tski atte kudasai" and the other person says OK, then you can ask the other person out easily. But it depends! (-;

In Japanese, "love" is "ai ," and the verb form "to love" is "aisuru." "I love you" can be literally translated as "aishite imasu ". "Aishiteru ," "aishiteru yo" or "aishiteru wa (, female speech)" is normally used in conversation. However, the Japanese don't say "I love you" as often as Western people do, because of cultural differences. I am not surprised if some Japanese say that they have never used these expressions in their life.

    ai shite (pronounced aye shtay)

    But the full sentence is:

anata no koto o ai shite imasu.

But a Japanese person would never say it that way.
