Atheist, non-believers, and secularist alike, do you think that your views line up with 2 Peter 3:3-4?

Question

2 Peter 3:3-4 states:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

If you find yourself agreeing with this passage maybe you should check out the next few verses:

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Are you kidding? That verse isn't anything near how any atheists views the world. Maybe it's how a Christian being feared into being moral would see it.

But then again what did you expect when quoting from a fictitious old book.

no longer in any respect might I even have predicted this from you. Hmmph. (Why, Zilla? Why???) Did I ever inform you relating to the time my son and his companion had a transport to a UPMC scientific institution purely approximately 30 miles north of my abode? On their some time past to the 'burgh, they desperate to pay us a flow to. for sure, it became 3 in the morning ... i became dozing, in all probability in some erotic dream (we are going to no longer in any respect be conscious of) whilst i became awoke by flashing lights and the sound of screaming banshees in my driveway. hectic, I sat up in mattress, waiting to combat off the noisy intruders ... Then, it hit me. i found out what that undesirable racket became. My son became Rick Rolling me in the time of the loudspeakers of the ambulance that sat it my driveway! And to think of, I gave delivery to him -- i presumed I raised him top! i assume some human beings should not be mom and father. ((((each and all of the gorgeous Zillas)))) Zilla, i will tell him that. :) while you're ever in Verona on a Friday night, and you pay attention the Tripods invading (conflict of the Worlds) ... Or, in case you pay attention what can basically be yet another Zilla screaming ... the crash of homes as they fall ... it is my son -- He who's meant to be a expert. whilst issues get boring, they liven it up slightly.
