Preconception advice TTC with PCOs?
My wife and I have been married for 3 years and we were waiting for her to finish her Masters before trying to have kids. She'll be finished in eight months or so. She's doing it by distance learning but working full time too and commuting 200km a day (driving). She's been on birth control pills and metformin since we got married because she has PCOs. I was wondering how long it could take us to get pregnant and should we start trying right away because it might take a long time? Plus what are the things to do to increase the chance of conception for a woman who has PCO?

Well since women with PCOS have problems regulating insulin in their body, they should eat like a diabetic does, low sugar diet, keep fruit juice down to a minimum also. They should also exercise everyday, not excessively but just enough to maintain a healthy BMI.
I know 2 women who were overweight with PCOS and as soon as they lost weight their symptoms disappeared and they conceived straight away.
good luck!!

One good way to track ovulation w/o OPKs is to chart your basal body temperature. All you need is a BBT thermometer and there are some sites where you can enter you daily temp and it'll help you figure out when you ovulate. It won't predict it, so it can't help you out there, but you can learn if your body has certain "signals" before ovulation. My cycle has ranged from 28-34 days in the past few months so I started doing my BBT again and it really helps to keep me from thinking my period is always late. You should give it a try.
