How come no one will answer my question?

I asked a question earlier to all non-believers/atheist but not one person answered me, maybe you will.

Do you think that this verse lines up with your views?

2 Peter 3:3-4 states:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

If you find yourself agreeing with this passage maybe you should check out the next few verses:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Will someone answer?

All based on a baseless bible!!!

There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!!

He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?

Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!!

At best he was an amalgam of those others!!

Pilot is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!!

The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god!!! He also organized Christianity into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely Italian!!

Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until many years after the period the story is set in!!

What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Christian enemies - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!!!

Had I seen your question earlier I would have answered but since I didn't I'll answer now.

You realize that atheits and non-believers have scripture screamed at them, with people adding "we love we, were warning you, you ARE going to burn in hell if you don't do as we say".

When you hear that or anything in that regard with scripture, people wonder why we stop listening.

But after reading your scripture quotes (which have been quoted by many christians on this site, so your question is completely unoriginal), you must know that in every generation there have been those who were non believers, atheists, who spoke about their non beliefs, but WHO were executed. There were those who were executed without trial without evidence to the contrary.

(Look up American Puritans, Salem Witch Trials).

The last days have been that since the ascension of your christ.

But, I'll leave you to your beliefs.

    Take care and good luck.

Does it line up with my views? No, hardly.

To say that an atheist holds the views he/she does so that they can 'walk after their own lusts' or because 'the fathers have fallen asleep' and so forth is to totally miss why a non-believer does not believe.

You believe, and all respect to you, because you have faith in something for which there is no evidence other than your own feelings, and because you are content to take statements on the authority of an another.

I disbelieve for the exact opposite reasons. I believe only in those things for which there is objective evidence or logical supposition, and take no statement on authority. That is, just as yours is, a position of belief; it is my belief rather than yours.

And finally, 'lusts' have nothing to do with it; and in fact, to assert that perhaps they do, I find to be rather insulting and reject out of hand.

If the gist of your question is "do I believe what is written?" YES!! On both counts. We are surrounded by unbelievers and those who would be naysayers to the Word of God, but we must keep the faith, even though it looks like the same old same old. It is not ,the clock ticks, and like a thief in the night, the time will come,... it will be over.

"line up with my views?" As in, do I agree with it?

I don't know enough about this scripture to comment toward it. Also, I have not established any thought-out views on what seems to be the subject of this scripture - the second coming of Christ.

    Sorry!

    God bless.

Since I believe God's Word, accept it, and live by it as the basis for my life, I am in agreement with the Truth of these verses.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness...

    2 Timothy 3:16

Atheists may say that God's Word has no effect; however, God's Word tells us that it will not return void. Our words have power, and the Word of God has the ultimate power to tear down strongholds, to set the captives free, to change lives, to release faith, to save, to heal, and to lead a lost or sinful person to the saving Grace of God.

The person who once rejected God will find Himself convicted of his sin and realize that his consequence is death without Jesus as his Lord. The power of the Word of God can warm even the coldest heart. There is no one that I don't have hope for or don't believe that God's Word can reach him/her. With God, all things are possible! God's Word is Jesus or God Himself incarnate. God is awesome and powerful. He won't force anyone to accept Him; however, God's Word gives many people reason to recognize their Creator and to love Him and to share the Truth about God's Word with others.

    Yes I do.

The fathers that fell asleep, were the prophets of old..God is always sending prophets today and has in the last 2000yrs.

People refuse to believe that there are prophets here today, because they believe only in the prophets of old..Try the spirits and discern if they are of God...He will return to those who are looking for His return..
