Apartments in San Francisco?

Is $1600-$1900 reasonable for a 1 bedroom apartment in San Francisco?

I don't want to live in the Tenderloin as I will be having a baby soon.

Update:

I currently live on Capitol Hill and that range would be reasonable for a 2 bedroom. Are prices really that much higher, or am I getting tooled with?

Yes, very reasonable, especially in a nice neighborhood. Rents have been going up over the past few months.

San Francisco is very expensive, in fact one of THE most expensive places to live in the world, but there are ways to get better deals. Check out your options on craiigslist: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ under Housing. Good Luck!

I would have thought no, but I checked rent.com real quick to see and according to that, you can. I don't know what neighborhood they are in though. You should check out rent.com and see for yourself. I live in the bay area and I pay $1585/month.
