Commuting to Mountain View, CA?

How easy is it to commute from San Francisco to Mountain view via mass transportation? Would it be better just to get a car and deal with parking?

More specifically from North of Market Street in SF.

You don't want to count on parking if you intend to commute to San Francisco. Parking is VERY limited and VERY expensive. Your best bet is to take the CalTrain (one or two stops in Mt. View) which runs up the Peninsula to about 6 blocks South of Market. Many riders like to take their bikes, riding to the CalTrain station, takeing the train to the city and then riding their bikes to their work location.

Taxis in San Francisco are plentiful and fairly reliable. In Mountain View, their reliability may be more iffy. You could take your car and drive to the CalTrain station and then, in the City, take a cab for the balance of your ride.

The baby bullet is just certain trips during the morning and afternoon commute. It just a normal train, but only makes a few selected stops and bypasses most of the other ones. There is usually about six trips each, with certain ones stopping at Mountain View Caltrain Station. Final stop is the Caltrain station in San Francisco, at 4th & King St. That is only a few blocks from At&t park. On the schedule, the bullet trips are highlighted in pink, so you just check which train serves Mountain View. There is no VTA bus that goes all the way to San Francisco or AT&T Park

The easiest is riding Caltrain, depart from 4th/king, you can walk there in 10 min from Market Street, and the train takes 50min from SF to Mountain View, and there are many shuttles in MV to msn, google, nasa...
