DO NOT do what the above poster said to you.
A mole is an abnormal (usually benign) growth of skin cells. It occurs when skin cells do not grow properly and keep on growing too much (akin to cancer). Some moles can potentially be dangerous though because they might be malignant.
Do not try to remove one by yourself. If you would like one removed, go to a dermatologist and have them remove it because they can then biopsy it to see if it is malignant (bad) or not. This can result in further removal of tissue.
