"The desk of Dean Hamilton"?

I had someone call my landlord today and leave a message for me to call back a 1-888 number and left the name Dean Hamilton. I called back and all I get is a voice message telling me to leave a message.

I assume this is a collector. Anyone have any info on him?

The only thing I have in collections right now is a debt that is not even mine and I am currently awaiting validation.

I have been having problems off and on with someone elses file getting merged with mine. What do I do?

Thanks.

Update:

Oh yeah and this person has never contacted me they went straight to my landlord.

Make sure you document every call and if you can get the person name. You might want to check with the Federal trade commission on what you rights as a consumer are.

    www.FTC.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP(382-4357)

Source(s): Had a creditor calling for a woman with my same maiden name. They kept calling I got fed up wrote a letter to the Speigal told them my account was paid and closed two years ago and did what there skip tracers couldn't do found the woman it belong to. Warned thru certified mail not to call me or they would get sued.

It sounds more to me like a sales call than someone insidiously trying to get to you through your landlord. Someone cold-calling you would only have a list and might have your name under your landlord's phone number if your landlord lives in the same location as you.
