What kind of steel are street lights made out of?

Thanks, for posterity sake:

I used Structural ASTM A36 for my homework that worked out alright.

    They are probably made from A36 structural grade steel. The same steel used for steel beams. In some cases, they may be made from A212 steel.

    In either case they are typically galvanized.

    It's usually galvanized steel, which is hot-dipped, medium-carbon steel that has been dunked in a molten bath of zinc to protect against corrosion.
