The US Airways plane crash today--is it a miracle? Do you believe in miracles?
Survivors are saying they believe it is a miracle they are alive. Rescuers cannot believe no one was killed. Everyone in the media seems to agree that this incident is nothing short of amazing. Do you still believe in miracles? Do you believe God intervenes sometimes in events like this?
For what it is worth...I sure do!

It is amazing that no one was hurt, but it was not a miracle. You may remember the Continental flight that skid upon takeoff and in a way crashed, they also said that was a miracle. There were not two miracles involving planes in that amount of time. The Coast Guard sprung into action as they always do. The pilot was one of the best in the industry, and knew what to do. As far as God intervening, I am very religious, my name is Christian, but this was not God. There was a reason God let the crash happen, and therefore it was him who let the Coast Guard do this for a reason known only to him, probably to bring people together.

I don't believe in god so i wouldn't say that it was a miracle. The pilots are trained for hours on end for every type of emergency possible. They are highly skilled to deal with this sort of thing. Reports are saying that the plane just glided into the water and because it was water it was a softer landing. I really have to say that everyone keeping calm like they did was great. If everyone was rushing and pushing to get out then maybe not everyone would have survived.

Im very glad no one was hurt in todays accident. Im not sure if its a miracle or not, but all i know is that ive very happy with the outcome, how the plane landed and was able to float allowing the passangers and crew to get out. and despite what others say about US Airways, i still like them and i still wanna become an airline pilot

Absolutely not. The laws of nature can perfectly well explain this, therefore it is not a miracle.
miracle n. An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God
Now as to whether there was divine intervention? I believe it could have, may have happened. But it'd be presumptuous of me to say that it was or it wasn't. Only one person can answer that question, and I don't have his email address.

Did God make the geese fly into the engines too? It was just a case of a very well trained pilot and modern technology that allowed all the people onboard to survive the water landing, nothing more.

I believe that there was definitely some Divine intervention there..even the best trained pilots make mistakes sometimes. I'm glad to hear everyone made it out okay.

Miracle? Of course not.
It was a well train flight crew doing what they're trained to do.

yes it also shows you how training helps
those pilots and flight attendants go though hours and hours of training
for emergencies like this
so lot of its just their training kicking in atomically
and passengers listen to the flight attendants as well
they probably had just had the their emergency instructions giving just
before they took off so it was still fresh in their (passengers) minds

Yes, I believe God decided to keep all those people alive today. He has His reasons.
