Would you sign a petition to ban Michael Vick from the NFL permanently?
Do you think Michael Vick should be banned from the NFL permanently for torturing animals? Or should he be allowed to return to his well-paid career when he gets out of prison? For those that believe he should be banned for life, would you sign a petition to keep him out?

Nope... I'm no fan of him... or his work, but I do believe in extending second chances.... I know I've needed em before, and probably everyone else here that answered this question. Do you honestly think he's going to go back into it? Doubt it. It's already cost him plenty, and not just financially.
I do think that the PC crowd has used this case as a lightning rod for their agenda's. There are many others out there that have raped, do drugs, and are just azzholes in general. There needs to be a level playing field, and currently, there is not. He's just the one that got the media's attention. Case in point - Mike Tyson

That's not a plea agreement or a confession. That's the Summary of the Facts. The plea agreement contains a lot more than that. That's only between Vick and the federal DA. If the judge would have ever denied a plea agreement or Vick changed his mind, that would have been thrown out and never used as evidence. That's all public record. Everyone knows the basic facts as stated there. How would that be able to make someone decide whether or not he should be able to play again. It's each individual's moral/value judgement. Russell Simmons and Al Sharpton, especially that buffoon Al Sharpton, would have no impact on most people's decision.

Wait a minute. Didn't he do his time, payed his debt to society, took his millions, publicly shamed. What more do you want. Do you want him dead. Give him a break, there are many more worse people playing in the NFL right now. A person who beat murder (of a human being), drug dealers, arm dealers, wife beaters, and menaces to society. What he did was wrong, but no worse than some of these other offenders. Why do people want this man's head, is beyond me. Leave him alone already, do we forget that he was YOUNG man. He made a mistake, get over it!!!!!
If that's the case, hell let's arrest President Bush for the abuses at that prison camp, for the atrocities that took place in Iraq. He was after all in charge of the place and men who committed these crimes, just like Vick.

absolutely not....Michael Vick has made a mistake and the beauty of America is seconds chances. Now I know Michael Vick broke the law and he has definitly paid the price for that, but what about Plaxico if vick is banned dont you think Plaxico should be banned to. Or do you really believe that vicks crime is that much worse then plaxico's. I know dog fighting is frowned upon here and i agree with it (i am a dog lover and have 3 dogs) but its obviously a social norm for some people out there because there still doing it and they always will. Michael Vick has lost everything since this has happened do you really believe that he should lose what hes worked for his whole life too.

I think the league will decide this based on the marketing impact and the expected financial returns, pro and con. I hope the results they find are that the people who are impacted by NFL marketing will pay less money with Vick in the NFL, vs out.
I think Vick violated fundamental societal norms and the NFL would be well advised to separate themselves from him permanently. But that's just my opinion.

I don't think he should be banned for life from the NFL. Once he completes his jail time he has fulfilled his debt for the crime. If a team chooses to give him a contract then so be it. We do not have to cheer him or that team to victory. I believe in redemption and forgiveness. If he seeks forgiveness then why should he be banned from making a living at what he knows best?

I would gladly sign any petition. I understand the feeling of some that he has paid his debt to society, etc...But, people, this a GROWN man who knew right from wrong...he let his "celebrity" go to his head. I would NOT want my children looking up to him (and let's face it, kids look up to their favorite athletes and want to be like them...
He need to get a job with Humane Society...or other such.
He's a disgrace to his profession.

No. What makes what he did any worse than animal slaughter for meat? I'm a meat eater before anybody calls me the V-word.
Those petitions are worthless. There's no way to verify signatures.

No. I believe a person should be given a second chance. Vick did his time and he also suffered huge financial losses. That should be enough and remember he will always carry such baggage around with him.

Yes I would sign the petition. He doesn't deserve the honor of playing in the NFL.
