Update on Brayden- he got released?!?
This is mainly for my contacts and people that have followed what's going on with my son.
He was put in the hospital last Thrusday because he was screaming, and had a high fever. They found out he had Meckles Diverticulum, and his intestines were wrapped around each other.
They did gastro intestinal surgery Saturday morning, which went well, he had his appendix removed, and had his intestines realigned. He came out with 32 stitches, and the doctor said they've corrected the problem successfully.
He got released from the hospital this morning, and is doing very well.
I've gotten tons of messages asking about him- so this was my little update!
Since I need a question- Has your newborn ever had an illness that scared you?

Whew! So glad to hear! I bet you're one happy mommy. :) We all knew he'd pull through though.
Thankfully Noah hasn't been through anything like that. I don't know what I would have done... His only trip to the ER was over the holidays due to wheezy breathing and a high fever(he was almost 9 months).

Yeaaaaaah Brayden and Big hugs to you momma. Im so happy hes home and Im sure you most of all are as well.
Yes my youngest whos now 4 had a fever of 103.8 and all of a sudden when we where getting her ready to go to the ER developed this angry red hive like rash all over her face, hands on her bottom Everwhere. They never figured out what it was but got her on Penicillian right away for the infection she had in her glands on her neck which they think could be from round of bronchittis she had. This was at age 2. Very scary and only one night in the hospital. Other then that no other major medical drama for the kids

Awe I'm glad to hear that everything went well!!
My youngest was born at 32 weeks and that was pretty scary. He was one of the lucky ones and only suffered jaundice (3 days), bradycardias (dip is heart rate) & apneas (pause in breathing for more than 20 seconds). He was on an apnea machine for 2 month after he came home. Those went away by the time he was 3 months old.

I am so glad you posted this update. I had seen your post and was hoping all would turn out well. What a strong and brave little guy!
My son has gave me many scares- a seizure at 12 months, a heart murmur that they thought was more than an innocent murmur which required us to undergo alot of testing at Childrens and since toddlerhood he has had stitches and surgical staples to close head wounds. Nothing close to what you have gone through though, stay strong Momma!

That must have been absolutely terrifying for your family. I am so happy to hear that all turned out well. Hopefully the rest of his recovery is quick and I pray he never has to go through anything bad ever again!
No real illness but my son used to have asthma attacks that would land him in the ER two to three times per week.

wow I haven't heard of him, but that is scary and I'm glad your little boy came out okay from it! I haven't yet had a huge scare like that, and hope I never do, but there have been false alarms. When she was only 9 weeks old, she got 'overheated' in our apartment---had a temp of 101.2! i was freaked out, she was crying hysetrically and incredibly hot, and so I stripped her down and took her to e.r. by then her temp had dropped to normal, but boy did it scare me!
also one time we were driving, and we almost got into an accident. My bf screeched on the brakes. (it was the other person's fault though0. My daughter was 5 weeks old with no head control---her neck and head flopped forward---I saw it---and when I tried to wake her up she wouldn't move. I was scared to death that her neck had broken or something bc of the way it looked, so I started breathing like hyeprventilating, and brought her in the house, and as soon as I took her out of the seat, she woke up and looked alive again. But seeing her neck on her chest and not moving really did scare me!

That is great news! Sending you well wishes for a happy recovery!
Our daughter has aortic stenosis, a narrowing of one of the heart valves. At a day old, she had a catheter procedure done on her heart. Now she goes to see a cardiac pediatrician regularly. She is doing well but will probably need another procedure at some point. And yes - it scares us. But you get through it day by day!

Hooray Brayden!!!! I am so happy you have him home now! Jackson has scared us once so far. About two months ago he was put in isolation for whooping cough. He had pneumonia and all sorts of other things! He is doing ALOT better though! Congrats Cali!

That great to hear that he's doing good.
My 6 month old son was only 1 day old when his heart rate kept dropping. He was hooked up to an EKG machine for 2 hours. I've been to numerous heart appointments for him. So far so good (fingers crossed.)
I feel your pain momma.

AWW I'm so happy he turned out alright.
I've never dealt with anything that severe. My 3 year old had her tonsils and adenoids removed and I knew how nervous I was during the surgery, I can't imagine how it must have been for you.
