First you have to get your undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts, probably in History.) Then, you will want to get your Masters of Arts (M.A.) in History. At that point, you can apply for a Ph.D. program.

Keep in mind, though, that most schools don't really want you in their Ph.D. program if you have gotten your undergraduate or masters there. They feel that you would probably benefit from the different points of views that you would get at a different institution. Also, by the time you're ready for a Ph.D, you'll probably have developed a specialty interest and will want to go somewhere that will help you explore that area more readily.

You're only in high school. Focus on getting your Bachelor's degree first and worry about the Ph.D. later.

You need to focus on college courses required to fulfill your Bachelor's degree. You need to get good grades and have a great overall GPA in college to apply for the Ph.D. program.

To apply for a PhD program, you need to have completed a bachelors degree and have a good GPA (3.0 minimum, higher is much better), good recommendations, good test scores (GRE), and publications if possible in your field.
