The more brown/spotted it gets, the sweeter it gets. As a fruit ripens, the complex sugar compounds break down and release flavor. I prefer slightly spotter, some like them yellow or green. If you like sweet flavor, go for riper/spotted brown.

Slightly spotted has the most flavor because it is the ripest. If you are making muffins, pudding, pancakes or bread always buy the ripe ones. That's what I usually look for. If you put them in the frig they will last longer but the skin will turn very brown and look yucky, though when you peel it the inside is still perfect.

The all yellow is firmer and most people go for them. Not quiet as sweet.

The grenn ones are not for eating rather setting on the counter for a few days to tun brown. Eating green bananas will give a tummy ache.

Slightly spotted will be sweeter and stronger tasting. Personally I prefer an all yellow banana. It's got the right balance of slightly tart and sweet.

The spotted ones are great for cooking (banana pancakes, banana bread) and smoothies.

It will depend on an individual's taste.

I prefer a greenish tinged banana as the are less sweet. You have them listed in the right order for stages of sweetness, and when they are almost all dark, they are at there sweetest before they start to go off.

Slightly spotted. It's actually ripe by this point.

I don't understand people who eat green bananas.

Personally, I enjoy the all yellow banana. Very sweet and ripe. If it has spots on it, I rather not eat it at all.

All yellow are my favourite - cant eat a spotty or brown bananas (use them for banana bread!

i like them when they are all yellow because when they are slightly spotted you never know if they are going to be bruised or not.
