My home main heating unit is not blowing hot air, It's electric w/a heat pump.. any suggestions?

I have an electric heat pump and blower inside the house, it does turn on but only blows cold air when it's supposed to blow hot air. I had a company come over and look at it, they told me that the heat pump was fine, & that I had to only replace a small fuse box and two 60 amp fuses, I did that and it worked ok for a while but for some reason it doesn't blow hot air. Any suggestions before I call the repairmen again and get overcharged again? Thanks!

You have to be careful when you say "hot air " with a heat pump. What's the temperature in the house? If it's hanging near the set point, don't call the repair man unless the house temperature starts dropping. At the low temperatures we're having your back up heat is also required and the controls keep that to a minimum to keep your costs down.If the compressor isn't running (the outside unit) then you are using emergency heat totally so that's something which needs to be fixed. As long as the unit is keeping the house at a reasonable temperature that might be the best you can get at the moment. Al Gore will be coming to your rescue about June.
