Would 6 cardinal tetras be alright in my 40 gal tank?

I just need to know if they are compatible with 2 young kribs, 2 young angelfish, 2 young firemouths (about 1 inch and very peaceful) and 5 hatchetfish. The only thing that I was concerned about were the firemouths but there were 4 small zebra danios in the tank for a while and they never paid them any attention. Actually it seems the kribs chase the firemouths a little but overall everyone is peaceful. The tank is well planted with lots of hiding places between the leaves and many rock caves as well. I do 25% water changes weekly and keep the water in good condition. Anybody that has kept cardinals, any of your experiences would be appreciated.

The Cardinals may be safe for a while, but when the Angels get big enough, they will do everything they can to snatch the Tetras up one by one. The Firemouths will likely do the same; Cardinals are very different-- the latter are always darting around, mostly at the surface, while the former will slowly drift around the mid level of the tank, just waiting to be eaten.

I'd recommend something a bit larger, like Phantom Tetras, or even Harlequin Rasboras, but if you do try the Cardinals, go with about 15 of them-- you've got room, and the larger school will provide safety.
