Is Ginko Bolaba and Jinseng a replacement for Concerta? ?

Concerta has been prescribed my my pediatrician for attention deficit disorder and I've been looking for alternatives before I commit to this "CLASS A" drug. Has anyone used Ginko or juinseng for ADD/ADHD and what were you results?

    Krill oil or flax oil

    Acetyl-L-carnatine (500mg-1000mg/day)

Check for yeast, treat with oil of oregano or grapefruit seed extract.

Well, there's a little bind there... supplements will never be an exact replacement for any drug for a few reasons. A couple of the main ones are that supplements won't have anywhere near the bad side effects that drugs have and supplements help your body do something healthy (whereas drugs force it to do something it wouldn't normally do). In other words, supplements will be safer, but may not have exactly the extreme impact as certain drugs.

That being said, I haven't seen much research about Ginkgo and Ginseng helping ADD/ADHD, but it's possible they might. Ginkgo helps with brain health and Ginseng helps with energy and stress.

However, there have actually been a lot of studies that have shown that Fish Oil can help with ADD/ADHD. It seems too simple, and that may be one reason it wasn't really looked at closely for this, but I wasn't surprised it would help when I thought about it. The EPA and DHA in Fish Oil help with all sorts of things including heart health, skin health, and brain health.

Give it a try... it's economical, safe, and easy. Just make sure that the company you get it from uses Molecular Distillation because that's currently the only safe way to remove any trace contaminants of any heavy metals. Of course, if you aren't sure about the dosage or the benefits, you may want to consult with a holistic doctor, as they may have other additional options available to them. Good luck!
