My daughter is now 16 and has never had a relationship with her father. He has never paid child support and he last saw her when she was 1 year old. Now that she is16 she is curious about who he is. I know he lives in another state, I found him on Facebook. My question is can I apply for child support for her now? I've never filed before now, I've always paid my own way and took care of her myself. But I'm curious what my options are now. He and I were never married. There is no questions that he is the biological father. He signed the birth cert and we lived together for the first year of her life. Any input will he helpful. thanks

Would it be pushy of me to send another thank you note. During the interview the interviewer mentioned that they would be in touch one way or the other. She mentioned that they were sorting through the first interviews and would be inviting a select few back for the 2nd interview. How long should wait to hear ? I don't want to look desparate but this was a really goof opportunity.

My car was parked in a church parking lot. The parking lot was nearly empty there was more than enoygh space for others to park. I guy from the church hit my drivers sode door and left a dent about 14 inches long and half in deep. He drove off and it wasnt till someone came in and said something that I knew. The church elder got hom on the phone and I spoke to him. We ecchanged info and I said I would call him when I get an estimate of the damages. This happened on xmas eve and there was no garage open till tuesdsy. So I go fpr the estimate and now he says too high. He agreed to pay for the damages but it looks like hes gonna give me a hard time. Im getting a second estimate as soon as possible. As of today its been eight days since the collision ... Is it too late to file a report with the police and ask for his insurance to pay? I should hAve called the police immediately but I hesitated because I thought this could be easily resolved. I live in connecticut if this helps. There were witnesses and he admitted to hitting my car and driving off.

I have an emachine and I need help with rebooting this thing. when i turn it on the screen is frozen on E machine, I can't get past the boot screen. The options are f10 and f3, i've tried hitting both keys and neither is working, help please if you know how to get past this screen so that i can get into my computer. i have the startup disk that came with it. i have antivirus software on the computer also. I've tried starting it over and over and nothing is working yet.

Really just looking for a few opinions but how many pages are really needed for a masters thesis? this is a paper on social media and i'm leaning toward a short essay style/research style opinion piece? is 10 pages enough? and this is due tomorrow and i've drawn a blank ....

I still owe about 12,000 on this car because the interest rate was so high. if i sell this car to carmax aor any other seller for less that what i owe, what happens to the original car loan? i understand that will have to pay the remainder out of pocket, but will this car loan be considered in default? will the loan have to paid off in immediately or can i expect to negotiate a timely payment? i'm just trying to get out of these outrageously high monthly payments for a car i'm paying way too much for. the car was brand new when it was purchased and it's in excellent condition, not one scratch and the mileage is low. i don;t want a trade in i just want to get out of this top heavy loan. and i'm not in a financial position to renegotiate a lower interest rate, i've already asked and been turned down.

I have an opportunity to apply for a job at a local tv station in a small market in new england. i have worked as a assistant producer for 2 years a little while ago. the new position is "assignment editor" at the news dsek of a fast paced news room. can someone tell me if is somehting i can learn on the fly? how difficult is this job? i can stand the pressure of the newsroom but the news desk has always scarred the ish out of me. the police calls, the emergency breaking news, i used to always miss the big stories when i was producing. someone else always got to the bog stories long before me. advice please .... would you take the leap and go for this job or hold out for something less intimidating? is the newsdesk collaborative or will i be on my own in this pitt of unending phones and newswires? in this economy i need a job i can rely on for the long term and i'm hoping this is it but i can't see past the fear of big desk. what would you do?

Concerta has been prescribed my my pediatrician for attention deficit disorder and I've been looking for alternatives before I commit to this "CLASS A" drug. Has anyone used Ginko or juinseng for ADD/ADHD and what were you results?

i'm installng carpet myself and this sort of carpet usually requires the installation of carpet padding underneath. what would happen if i were to lay the carpet without the padding? i'm just trying to cut costs. the floor underneath is some sort of particle wood.

I've been looking for a graduate degree in media studies that focuses on management. is it worth simply going for an general mba and a separate communication degree? I've found only 2 media management degree programs in nyc but I'm looking for more options. any help would be appreciated. The New School and Metropolitan College offer media management but i don;t really want to attend either.
