Master's Degree in Media Management?
I've been looking for a graduate degree in media studies that focuses on management. is it worth simply going for an general mba and a separate communication degree? I've found only 2 media management degree programs in nyc but I'm looking for more options. any help would be appreciated. The New School and Metropolitan College offer media management but i don;t really want to attend either.

Are you looking specifically in the NYC area? Then there are two MBA programs that offer concentrations in Communications and Media Management, or related, that you must look at. Both are highly reputable - moreso than the schools you mentioned. Fordham and, if you can get in, NYU. Both offer MBAs with concentrations either specifically in media mgmt, or in something very closely related.
If you want a grad degree in media studies that focuses on management, an MBA with a concentration in that area is a better, more marketable choice than a general MBA and a separate comm degree.
If you do start looking at MBA schools, make sure that any you consider are AACSB accredited. That's a type of professional accreditation that many employers require of your program. If your school doesn't have it, you may have difficulty with some employers. Fordham and NYU both have it. The AACSB website lists all the MBA programs that have it, and you can see which are in the NY area, and check which have a concentration in media mgmt or related.
If you don't already have work experience related to media, make sure you do a co-op or internship, or at least volunteer work, in the field while you're studying. Otherwise, it'll be harder to get a job coming out.
