Reason? . . .To gain and share insight and knowledge by asking and answering questions.

Benefit from it? . . .Variety of opinions, answers are shared through real words compared to words written by professionals.

Able to benefit and learn from personal experiences and insights of others.

Deeper understanding, insight and knowledge allows a person to be more productive and understanding of self and others.

Since this forum is "anonymous", it seems that people tend to express more of pure form, bare honesty, the "real stuff", with a "tell it like it is" in their own words.

Through the "real stuff" shared in persons own words, deeper knowledge is gained. And, no matter positive or negative, honest expressed words and thoughts is a form that I learn best through.

  • To be honest, I do not know how I even got here, when I first started. I didn't know anything about it. I had only been playing around with the computer about a month, when I stumbled onto this site, quite by accident.

Since then, I have been made aware of a whole new world out there. People from all over the world, that I could actually communicate with. Wow! I have been truly amazed! I have real friends that I can actually "feel" their "spirit"! Even though I cannot see their faces, I 'know' them by their spirit. How very awesome this is!

I will admit, I was taken in by the points and badge for a while. But nothing could have prepared me for all that I have truly gained from this site. It goes far beyond the triviality of the points. I have found a new way to reach out, learn, share and help others.

    Thank you Yahoo! :D

I feel like the dullness of the typical 9-5 desk job is wearing away at the creative side of my self, and see this as a stimulating way to connect with other people during the day (or as stimulating as it can be through a computer at a desk).

I find that there are others out there doing the same thing, many looking for more to life, and enjoy discussing these types of things.

The site has some signs of life, whereas my daily work requirements do not.

If it's a serious question than if I can I will try to show the love of Christ to the person who asked the question and give whatever advice I have on the question they asked.

If it's a regular normal question like does the xbox 360 have overheating problems than I give them the answer that I know to be true cause the Xbox 360 has overheating problems.

I benefit in the sense that I can help others out if they have questions I know I have or had life experience about.

and just pure bored and i can learn stuff to

I wanted to ask questions because I has some. Then, I liked the idea of getting points so I just became a regular user. From this, I benefit learning about things and different points of views.

Used to be that silvery hair meant you knew how to survive, therefore age was respected and the young asked questions of the elders. These days everyone is segregated, people seeing each other only in cars passing. Y/A is a public forum designed to pass along wisdom and to remind us that we don't know as much as we thought we did.

The humor is wonderfully refreshing. We all take ourselves Sooo seriously sometimes.

This is the place where I got to know some nice friends who I've been chatting with for more than 2 years. And they are the one I've shared things that I may not do like with others.

Source(s): Life is full of surprises!

Boredom as well. Also, I am a philosophy major (with an ethics minor) so trying to explain concepts and theories help me remember and better understand the material I go over in various classes.

well the first time it was a financial question then i realized i can ask anything and answer anything. i benefit from the good answers and have made some nice friends on here. its nice you can be yourself and they love ya anyway. and for the trolls i ignore them and just stick to the nice peolple. sometimes i have got too involved and felt sad and upset over questions being asked. but i try to move on. have a great day

Communicate with all kinds of people across the globe regardless of their backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, points of views etc.

It is not exactly something which most people encounter in their daily lives. Same people, same programs and views in the media.

Reading what other people have to say.

Get info on about anything really.

And so on...like most of the people said above.

I like people who make me laugh and make me think.
