help on math problem?

Er, what exactly are you supposed to find? value of x? value of y? coordinate table thing? Please give more information.

1. -2x+y=4

y=2x+4

2.8x+2y=-6

2y=8x-6

y=4x-3

3.x-3y=12

-3y=x+12

y=-1/3x-4

well if youre trying to get them into y = mx + b form, i can help.

but you werent very specific.

so i guess the first one, just add the 2x to both sides. y = 2x + 4.

the second one, subtract the 8x. 2y = -8x - 6. then divide a 2 out of everything, giving you y = -4x- 3

finally, subtract the x on the last one. then divide by -3. the answer to this one is y = 1/3x + 4

1) -2x + y = 4

-2x + 2x + y = 4 + 2x

y = 4 + 2x

2) 8x - 8x + 2y = - 6 - 8x

2y = - 6 - 8x

y = (-6 - 8x)/2

y = -3 - 4x

3) x - 3y = 12

x - x - 3y = 12 - x

-3y = 12 - x

y = -4 - 1/3(x)

-2x+y=4, make the equation equal to y.

add 2x to both sides.

that will equal y=2x+4

you have what Y equals, then, you substitute the y in the third equation for (2x+4) that will look like this

x-3(2x+4)=12. you did this, because you want to get only one variable in one equation. you solve that, then when you get the answer

it will be x= ? and then you can plug the number for x in place of the variable in the third equation

-2 x 2= -4 + y (y=8) = 4

the second one im having a little trouble with

x (x=24) - 3y (y=12) =12

u do those on the graph lewk at ur math book and look 4 the formulas ..it actually helps(^_^)

so u simplify the problem until it iz something like y=4+2x

adn graph it with 4 as the y intercept and 2x as the slope..rite? lol >.<

y=-2x+4

y=4x-3

y=-1/3x-4

Kind of hard to explain because I'm not a math teacher but it's really simple you just get y by it self.

-2x+y=4

add 2x to 4 to get tit on the other side

y=4+2x

Just try to get Y by itself

then after you can factor that sh it yadadamean.
