Wow are there a lot of ideas out there. Most answers need a good trip to Wikipedia.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate

It even has pictures, er drawings. But it summary, it makes much of what comes out when we ejaculate. There are sperm from the testicles and other fluids from the seminal vesicles, but the prostate has many of those muscles that squirt your stuff across the room.

Check the drawings, it's an extension of the bladder and all the pee goes through it, touches the rectum and is felt for its size that way. It's the size of a walnut in young men, but can grow to the size of an orange and make it difficult to pee. Many say it gets enlarged and can become cancerous because of lack of ejaculations. And it is commonly understood that men who have had the most ejaculations have the lowest risk of cancer there. That being said, not enough men are having enough ejaculations, because prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men...FAR more common than breast cancer in women. It is said that the probability of a man having cancer of the prostate equals his age. That is a 20 year old has a 20% chance; a 70 year old has a 70% chance. So guys get busy out there, and girlfriends, you need to help them, too. Removal of a cancerous prostate will leave a man infertile and usually impotent, not capable of an erection, an orgasm, or an ejaculation, and possibly incontinent, unable to keep his bladder from constantly draining out all the time. All very BAD news.

I believe the first answerer is right to some extent. My husband says his doctor sticks his finger his rectum to check his prostate.

It is a big gland the size of a grapefuit inside a mans bunghole that makes some of the love juices. The balls make about 2/3rds and the prostate makes the other half. The juices are rich in protein which gives them the wonderful flavor. Good luck.

Prostrate is the act of lying face down.

Prostate (no "R" after the first "T") is the organ that makes the fluid that sperm travel in. Testicles make the sperm, and the prostate makes the fluid.
