Well you need your wand to apparate yeah? I remember it saying somewhere James left his wand on the couch or table? And I suppose Lily left hers somewhere as well. hmm..stupid...stupid...stupid...

As has been previously stated you need your wand to apparate and James had let his on the sofa when he was playing with Harry. Lilly gave her life to protect Harry. Her thoughts were not on apparating out of danger. They were on defending the life of her only son. Which as we all know is what made the story great.

Sometimes people don't think of the obvious when dealt with high pressure. And probably, the house had anti-apparition charms set on it so people couldn't Apparate in it -it is said at one point in the book many wizard families did that to their houses-.

Because then Harry Potter wouldn't be the same if his parents are alive.

Good point...I think that would probably give away that they were staying there, even without the Secret Keeper telling Voldy the secret, which already happened, but it might show where they are.

It just suppose to happen or the rest of the story would have been happy dandy with living parents.

Beause it was all over too quickly to do anything, & besdies If they had voldemort would have got them sooner or later.
