  • If I were chased by a T-Rex, how fast would I need to be to survive?

How fast would I need to be, and how endurable?

I just picked up running, and imagining things chasing me or me chasing them motivates me to no end, and makes it fun. My current goals are to outrun bears, wolves, catch deers, and maybe the Trex on the list if it's not impossible.

  • Odd dreams that seem to have a message?

I've been having some really odd dreams lately, and thought I should share them with you..maybe you guys can figure out what they mean.

    1. I am in my room, and I look up the ceiling. There are small butterflies all huddled up in s pot there, while not being too close to each other. I find this very strange, but I don't disrupt them. A friend comes over and she scares some of them away.

We go out, but when I return, I find that one is already a pupae, hung up by a shelf in my bookcase. I wake up before it would start emerging.

    2. I am in a room, and I assist at a discussion. A boy, maybe 16 or 17, with wild blond curly hair is talking to his friend, and expressing his displeasure at having to participate in a transgression/transformation ceremony (they all have to take it when they come of age, apparently). He doesn't want to loose his old self in favor of the new. I think he has the impression that transformation will corrupt him or something.

The talk is interrupted by the boy's father and grandfather, who take him away in another room and start dressing him for it. They dress him in an elegant red coat (all the clothes are regency style btw) with golden details, and take him to a large hall.

The hall is gray, and very high, and in the middle there is like a large slab, raised up from the ground.

A sort-of priest appears, dressed in red and gold, and takes the boy by the shoulders and puts him on it. He instructs the boy to sit still, and not to blink.

    "It will not hurt."

He pulls a dagger from his sleeve, with a crooked and sinuous blade, with a golden handle with a blood red gem. he carefully places the tip over the boy's heart.

He stabs him, and the boy arches his back up; the priest turns the dagger clock-wards and the boy dissolves suddenly. On the slab there are left only large red spots.

The priest instructs the people to wait, because the boy will now come back transformed. The slab starts to look...odd somehow.

I wake up and don't see his transformation.

    3. I am on a beach, and I'm holding a large butterfly net. A man tells me that if I run, I can catch butterflies. So I do, and catch loads of blue ones.

"The larger ones are caught only if you run hard enough" his voice says, so I run harder, and not only do I catch larger blue butterflies, but I also start catching flowers, and leaves and clouds and all sorts of stuff.

"You can also catch spirits with that net." the voice tells me, so I start running harder, and catch several spirits.

One of them is that of my dead grandfather.

I take the net home, and spill all its contents on the floor in my room. The spirit of my grandfather is in my hands, and when I release it, it starts to materialize.

It materialized up to his torso...and then I woke up.

They're inspiring...but really odd, and I have the sensation they have some sort of message in them.

  • How can I solve the following trigonometry problem?

It says that the value of sina is 1/3, and based on that I have to find out the value of cos2a.

I thought of using the cos2a formula, but that didn't do me much good.

    Any help, please?

  • Upgrading to XP 3 issues?

I have a computer with XP SP1, but alas, this is quite inconvenient for me, so I decided I should upgrade to SP3.

I asked one colleague of mine, who is supposedly good with computers, and said that if I get the upgrade from Windows, I don't need to reinstall it, it will just upgrade like any regular program.

But I am quite skeptic about that, and I am reticent to do that without further opinions. I don't want to risk loosing months of work and .psd files and music and what not (I'll do a back-up anyway soon)

    Opinions, advice?

  • Dream - the goldfish prince?

I had this recurring dream a while ago, and now I wonder what it meant. It was, and still is a great inspiration for me, in my art, and I dubbed the boy that appeared in it "The Goldifsh Prince". Here is the actual dream:

I was in a library. It was large, and full of books - on the shelves, on the floor, but surprisingly, there was a central portion with a red rug that's clear of them. There was a hall leading to a main desk on the left. I advance slowly, looking around me, and when I come up to the large golden desk, I come face to face with my old school's librarian (she was a very pleasant person I liked very much, and supported me trough the bullying I faced). We had a small chit-chat, exchanged smiles, and I went on my way.

It felt warm and cozy there. I advanced, and in another room (also of the library; with lots of books scattered) I find a little boy with black eyes and messy black hair. He was dressed in simple clothes, and he held a small sphere of water with a smaller goldfish inside. The sphere glowed ethereal, and the goldfish was almost lighting the water it was in. It swam happily in there.

The first time, he asked me to help him catch up with his fish - the sphere was rolling on the floor. I ran, and ran and ran after it, until i reached a great hall. I thought it was the hall of my High School for some reason, although it was more like something out of a palace. Then, I lost the sphere out of site, and I woke up.

The second time, he asked me to take his fish somewhere, so I did.

And the last night, he asked me to hold it. I held it with so much carefulness, but I think somewhere in the dream it disappeared.

I wonder what to do you guys think it means. Some people gave it religious connotations, as in "The Divine Great Library of Knowledge", saying it was prophetic and I was very young to have it.

Others ventured in my relationship with guys (reference to the boy), and books, and got my personality and my feelings towards each correct on the spot.

What do YOU think it is?

  • Ink painting - diluted or thick?

How does one actually paint with ink? Do you use the ink as it comes form the bottle or diluted with water, like some kind of watercolour?

I thought about doing a little experiment and dilute some ink in water to paint with it, and use it just like watercolour.

But I'm not sure if that's the right method. Could you please clarify me on that?
