What works the best to get oil or grease out of clothing?

I have tried Shout and Spray and Wash but I have to was my clothes 2 or 3 times before it all comes out. I want something that will get it out in the 1st wash.

Update:

At work we use Canola oil(cooking oil grade) and sometimes it spatters.

Old or new oil/grease stains can be safely removed with Ronsonal cleaning fluid.

Saturate the stain with the fluid. Let is set about 15 min. and then wash as usual.

Ronsonal is sold with tobacco products.

Be careful what you are trying to clean, if you got gas (like u use in your car) on your clothes, they are trash, you should not use your washing machine to wash them and the dryer could blow up... seriously, I have had to get a new coat b/c of a gas accident. If its grease from cooking or some sort, try the brand zout.... spray it on when you throw it into your laundry bin, then spray it again before you put it in the washer... some old school club soda might work too, but I have not had to use that yet, but my mother swears by it... good luck!

A stain remover from laundry component of food market. Spray and enable it take a seat for some hours, then wash in warm water if the garments won't shrink. in any different case, use heat water. it may take countless tries in the previous the stains come thoroughly out.

  • Try to use a soap that is oil based, they used to make a soap in the old days 'green soap' and that works always, like my grandma told me. Rub it in wait 10 minutes and wash it in the washing machine , and you can get the temperature of wool.

Get some OxiClean powder - make a solution of it w/water & soak the clothing... (make a paste of the OxiClean & apply it to larger spots & scrub it in with a scrub brush b4 soaking) good luck!

Try pre-treating with Formula 409, then launder with a good detergent.

Source(s): I use a product with same ingredients to clean organic grease from upholstery.
