Registering child killers?

After reading about the 6-month-old little boy in Dallas that was abused so horribly by his own parents that he is on life support something needs to be done further to try to prevent this! I realize what I would propose would be after the fact in this little guy's case but it's better than nothing! For those of you that didn't read it, this baby has 42 broken or fractured bones that some were beginning to heal that indicated the abuse had been going on for at least a month. His hands and feet had been pulled, twisted and crushed. He has a severe head injury and is on life support. My proposal is that anyone doing this to ANY child should at the very least have to register wherever they live like the sex offenders do. Of course, if I had my way the parents involved would be sterilized so they couldn't have any more children to abuse too. Do you agree?

I also know this is going to sound callous but should he survive his injuries the system will only return him to the parents that put him in that condition. And, should he survive he will be severely mentally and possibly physically impaired making it more difficult or even impossible for him to defend himself in time to come.

Update:

Seems people think if someone kills a child through abuse or neglect they'll spend the rest of their lives in prison. (As they should) They don't always. But, pay attention to articles involving this subject and the charges are usually not murder. They are most likely neglect, endangerment to a child, wreckless endangerment, felony abuse, et cetera. And yes, they finally charged the Anthony woman with murder. Hallelujah!

Update 2:

Jadawin.......when I wrote this I was thinking on the line of when/if they got out of prison. Some never see more than the local jail for a time.

David.......I agree with you that some should be disposed of. Like the ones that have confessed to heinous crimes, taken authorities to the bodies. The ones undeniably guilty on death row. If they will never be able to be rehabilitated and at one point become a productive citizen then they should be terminated. Life without parole should be abolished. If someone gets life with possibility of parole and continues their ways in prison then their sentence should be revoked and dealt with accordingly. But, there are those that think that it's more inhumane to get "rid" of freaks of nature than the act of the crime they committed. "They" say it costs more to execute than the keep them for life. I'm thinking on the line of the prisoners getting to see their family on holidays or weekends versus the victims family getting to go to the cemetery.

The child will not go back to the parents.

They will spend a very long time in a part of jail with other baby killers and abusers etc. When they are transported to court they wear special colors for baby killers or abusers and colors for adult murders.

They strange thing about that is....the baby killers and abusers argue over who is the worst baby killer and abusers. They actually fight each other? Strange.

    Like Cock fighting.

I believe that some people just need to die, child abusers and molesters and rapists are at the top of my most hated criminal list. So I have to disagree, but I know that my method of getting rid of these people is not humane, but neither is beating, molesting, or raping someone (and it is even worse if they are a child). However I will settle for life in jail and no Parole.

EDIT-I do see your points and actually agree with you. I wouldn't ever want someone executed if there was any chance that they did not commit the crime.

erm if anyone does this to a child they'll most likely be signing up to the cleaning schedule in jail.

The least that they should do - is life in prison - IMHO

And no, he will not be returned to his parents - ever again.
