YA liberals...who are you?

I would like to know who are the liberals here. When ever I'm here I read questions about the left wing bias of YA and yet I feel like one of about ten out here on the political left.

I am going to post the same question for conservatives. I'd just like to get an idea of the break down of people here.

I think you will find that most neocons are one issue voters. Most of them resent being great apes, and a lot of them think that Jesus turned the water into grape juice. Really. Think about that one. I think I'll ask that in a question tonight. Sounds like fun.

I had an excellent liberal arts education, in both arts and science, when people still actually knew what the 7 liberal arts were, to wit: grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, music, geometry and astronomy.

As a consequence, I am a political conservative, although the only party truly worth voting for, these days, is a good New Year's Eve Party, where everyone brings their own food and booze.

Who needs to pay hundreds and hundreds of people to think up newer and dumber LAWS all the time, all which require bigger and dumber and more expensive bureaucrats and bureaucracies to administer and enforce such dumber and more expensive laws.

I'm with Aristotle on law makers. Don't they have something better and more useful to do with their lives?

It shows what has happened to america over the past 8 years that 'liberal' is now considered as a term of abuse by some people. This is in the USA, the worlds greatest liberal democracy.

Has america become so extremist? So fearful of the outside world?

The irony is that the values the neo-cons have been 'protecting' from the perceived islamic threat are liberal values: free speech, individual rights, self determination, the absence of religion-based law.

The american constitution is a declaration of liberal values.

Thankfully, we don't have the same anti-liberal thing in britain. At least we still recognise and understand the values that we want to defend

Personally, i'm a left wing liberal, and that's on a british scale.

I don't know if I'd call myself a liberal ( in the UK that can have different meanings incl Lib Dem party), but I feel I'm to the left. I've noticed some very aggressive questions and answers from both sides here - but also lots of anti Obama feeling on YA, more than I seem to see in general life.

I'm 51, female, a software engineer with no kids... but owned by two cats. Spiritual, but not religious. Possibly Agnostic, but I wrote 'Agnostic' on a form when I was in the Air Force... my dog tags came back saying I was 'Protestant". Although a "bedwetting moonbat liberal", I could have been a "Goldwater Republican"... or a Libertarian if Goldwater was still alive and running on that ticket, out of disgust over the demise of his party.

I consider myself a left leaning Independent. Many people consider that my views make me a liberal. It's just a name. I do have a few conservative thoughts and could consider voting for someone on the other side, but, only if they publicly denounced Ronald Reagan as the fraud that he was.. It will probably take another five to eight years before any Republican has the courage to do that.

I'm like the one poster, I'm liberal in some areas but not all...and I don't see a problem with that.

I'm white, 40 year old, active duty military married to another military member, 3 kids between the two of us.

I consider myself a moderate. The extremists on the right think I'm a liberal. I've received a few violations but I don't think that I'm a victim of some bias or conspiracy.
