For those of you who have chihuahua pets...?
OK, im worried. One of my friends moved away and she couldnt take her female chihuahua with her. As a friend, I offered to care for the little thing and save her from having to go to the shelter. I like animals, and i do have dogs but BIG dogs a husky and a german shepard. I ve never had a female dog and i wouldnt be able to tell the signs of pregnancy in her. I have noticed her nipples are hard and darker and her (whatever it's called) is swollen. I called my friend and ask her if she had seen her dog acting strange or the like she said "no" now Im not sure if shes been around male dogs or not or if this means shes in heat or pregnant. Please help. Im already saving money to take her to the vet and have her spayed inmediately i just dont have enough money right now and I cant have more dogs. Thanks in advance.

I dont think she's pregnant. her stomach will get swollen and she will get restless. and she would probably get sick for 2-3 days. within the first 2 weeks of the pregnancy. i would suggest seperating her from your males for a while. this only happens once every 6 months. so you should have enough time to get her spayed between heats. i would do it asap

Well, I suggest Googling "Signs of Chihuahua Pregnancy" and "Chihuahuas in Heat. You'll probably find some useful information other than here, because chances are probably most of us would give you an answer saying "Go to the vet immediately!!!"
Or, call your friend again and ask if she kept her Chihuahua around male dogs, maybe she's knows anything about that.

Sounds like she is in heat. Don't leave her outside or around an unneutered male for a second! Always have her on a leash. A Chihuahua that is pregnant by an unknown male is more trouble than anybody needs

she is most likely in heat because if she tied with one of your dogs she would most likely be dead, and if that didnt kill her the puppies would because your other dogs are WAY too big, so i would take her to the vet and have her spayed and if there are puppies in there they will be aborted when she is spayed. i know it sounds cruel, but you are saving her life, and most likely the puppies would end up in a shelter anyway as a chi/shepard X is not a desirable dog to have.

My boyfriend has a chihuahua and her (whatever it's called) lol gets swolen too that just means just in heat and her nipples are hard to lol

If her "area" is swollen, it sounds like she is in heat. You'll probably want to get her fixes, as you male dogs will start going INSANE to get to her.
