If you're referring to Swift's "A Modest Proposal," the irony is all there. The Brits didn't like the Irish, so swift, much like Stephen Colbert, gives their version of right wingers a kick in the irony. Think about it--the author is preaching to the believers, much like Colbert does, only it is all irony, all satire. If you're writing a paper, compare Swift to Colbert and you'll get an A. Send it to me and I'll proof it for you, although it has been a few years since I read it. I used to tutor English when I was in college.

Write what you know. Are there any rules or regulations at your school that you don't like? For example, do students have to wear IDs and hate it. Have all students get a tatoo barcode on their forearms. Teacher could take attendance that way. They could bring up the students disciplinary record just by scanning there arms. Have all hall monitors with scanners. Do you think kids talk on cell phones too much? Have them surgically implanted. Is your school having money problems? Have them sell beer at athletic events. Is there a problem with violence at your school? Give all school employees guns. Just write what you're familar with and have fun with it.

Suggest we solve the energy crisis and the inflation crisis by making cars that run by burning money.
