I need some nurses help!!!?
I'm 15 right now, and I would love to become a nurse... I waned to know what steps you took to become a nurse... I am also considering helping out at our local hospital... does anybody know how old you have to be to help out at a hospital (like shadowing someone, or something like that)

Just keep up good grades in school, and try to do well on your ACT/SAT/equiv. Nursing school's are pretty competitive, so with your college career, try for a 3.2+ GPA. With a 3.5GPA (college mind you) and good standardized test scores, you'll be a shoe in!

When I was your age I started taking classes at my high school that was offered. I ended up getting my certified nursing assistant or a CNA. You can also get it at a college as well, cheaper at a community college. I did that to see if I wanted to go into nursing so that I could experience and watch. The class requires you to do clinicals and you are able to follow or shadow and help sometimes to earn your hours for the class. Here in NC you have to have a CNA in order to be accepted into the nursing program. It is a great experience and I would Highly recommend it to get started. There are prerequisites to getting into nursing like chemistry and maths and such. The maths and englishs you can test out of but I think there is chemistry and anatomy and phisyology that you have to take as well. Once you do that you can get put on a list for nursing, that is if there is a list for the class, there is here.

Start out by becoming a Candy Striper or Volunteer.
For schooling, see if you can find a VocTec LPN class. This way you cans start in High School.
If not, start out as a CNA or certified nurses aid. I went the route of LPN then RN.
I did it through an external degree program. Most people prefer the classroom and traditional schooling.
Best wishes.

Well back in the 60s all that I had to do was put on a lil' outfit and talk to a man about making movies. It didn't seem like nurse work but the money was okay. I didn't even have to go to med-school! You should go for it hun. My son used to be a nurse but he died, still love his lil' heart.
