Chinese New Year prayers?
My question is who are these people we are praying too, what is their proper name in English???
I speak Teo Chew, my family has a traditional prayer on Chinese New Year Eve where before the clock strikes 5pm, all food must be on the prayer table to serve these 10 brothers. In my language, the literal English translation is "10 good brothers"...
I'm trying to research the history on these brothers, the only information I have are stories past down from my grandparents...
The only additional info I know is:
... they can only eat once a year... CNYE.
I've searched the web, all I could find out was a movie about 10 magical brothers birthed from this mortal women.
What I want to know is if my family's traditions are true, and these brothers are only allowed to eat once a year, that must have been some kind of punishment, who were they and what did they do to deserve that curse?

Prayers are definitely answered. There are prayers that needs only for one to wait and it will come. There are prayers that has to be answered but not in the way someone would expect it and with that, someone has to find the answer why because oftentimes there is a great reason or one has to make an option which might be the right course and that is the answer. Most of the time prayers must always be followed up with works. Had your wife stopped going to the class, maybe she is still friendless up to now.. However, friends oftentimes do not necessarily have to be searched, like an angel, they come in the appropriate time in a form of a stranger and suddenly found one another as good friends. Did not God promise us that each one of us will have an angel to be with us. Most of the time they are in your conscience and for to physically appear maybe you can take a look at your wife or your wife can take a look at you and you will find how God fulfills HIS promises.
