How to move the task bar on the desktop when using Vista?

My taskbar has always been on the bottom of the screen (horizontal), but now it has shown up on the right side (vertical). I have restrted the laptop several times, looked up "Help" in Windows, tried clicking on it, holding button down and dragging it but it does nto move.

    > Right-click the Taskbar in a clear space i.e. where there are no icons etc.

    > Uncheck the 'Lock the Taskbar'

    > Now click and hold anywhere on the Taskbar.

    > And drag it to the bottom of the screen. [Resize is necessary].

    > Right-click Taskbar again, and Check 'Lock the Taskbar'

    - When Taskbar is locked there will be no vertical-tab-like bars to move the Quick Launch or things around.

    Hope this helps.

Right click on the taskbar, and uncheck "lock the taskbar"

You can then drag-and-drop it to where you'd like it.

Once you do that, you probably want to re-lock it, so it doesn't get accidentally moved.
