Is there anyway to enter facebook chat without my friends seeing I'm available?
Somewhat new to facebook and like the chat. However, I don't like having to go available just to see who is online. Is there anyway to see who is available / online without revealing I'm available / online myself?

Hey. Facebook does not offer this hidden option unfortunately. There is a third party application that offers a limited functionality (ie doesn't always show all of the online friends and often alerts your friends to the fact that you are using the feature.) It is called Online Friends.

No, If you want to chat with your contacts, then you have to show you're online. Sorry

Why can't you just click on the button that says, don't let them see me, the ignore button. All you have to do is click on that friend and change the settings.
