Excel - Text select keyboard shortcut.?

Is their a keyboard shortcut to bring up the "Text Select" cursor?

I.e. a shortcut equivalent of double clicking a cell.

Thankyou!

A double click is a shortcut in itself. Don't think you can get quicker than that. If you want to get to a certain cell quickly though, especially if it is something like BA16000, i.e. way down the spreadsheet away from view (unless you have split your screen), then use the name box to name cells. Then click on name box, click on BA16000 and you are there instantly.

F2 function key is your answer but I suspect that you would benefit from all the short keys for selectiing cells. Type keyboard into the Excel help and you will find a section called Keyboard shortcuts and a whole section on selection. Alternative ten pages on selection in Excel Intro manual below

    Expert answer for this.

Double Clicking the cell will induce the rename function.

So double clicking shortcut is F2.

Ctrl and Shift will select one cell at a time and Shift will select multiple cells at a time respectively.

You could write a macro to do it. Don't know about the shortcut though.

To select text, you have several options, you can either use SHIFT and your arrow keys, or you can use CTL and SHIFT and arrow keys to select to the end of your text / the row.
