One more question... Who gets a form 1098-T?

I know it has something to do with school and tuition, but I'm not sure if I get one or not because I did not pay for my tuition or my books, I received financial aid to cover it. Should I expect and wait for a form 1098-T before filing my taxes?

Update:

I'm still confused, LOL! I should be more clear on my financial aid. I received federal grant money for financial aid, this is not a loan that I will be paying back. I think that means I won't get a 1098-T. Maybe I should call the school and find out.

If you didn't pay anything out of your own pocket (that includes using loan proceeds for tuition by the way) then you are not eligible for any tax benefits from your educational pursuits. In that case there's no need to wait for your 1098-T.

    Who Gets A 1098 T Form

YOU should receive the 1098-T because you actually did pay for your tuition in the form of the financial aid. That is a student loan that you will end up paying back after you graduate.

Wait for the 1098-T to file your taxes. You may qualify for certain credits.
